Local Events This Weekend! + May Day Simplicity 🌺🌿✨

One Being Is Enough

Hello Reader

Wow, how is it May? Happy Beltane, a.k.a. May Day!

A major Gaelic festival, Beltane signals the beginning of summer or the mid-point between Spring Equinox and Summer Solstice. We may think of the maypole dance as the quintessential symbol of May Day. But let's not forget the bonfire! Fire--as purifying and protective--is the element no Beltane celebration can do without.

For myself, I've been feeling an ebb in my inner fire, after a couple weeks of colds, a bad eye infection, and the bursting busyness of spring. The antidote? You'll see below, in the style and content of our weekly nature reflection and practice.

Cheers,

Jennifer

WEEKLY REFLECTION

One Being Is Enough

Jennifer Ruth Keller

When's the last time someone suggested to you--even celebrated--that you let yourself enjoy one small and simple thing for an hour? Heck, for fifteen minutes? For five?

Consider yourself invited into the possibility of what I call "one being is enough." One tree. One bloom. One bird. One moth. One pebble. Give yourself permission to try it out. Savor. Relish. Rest. Release.

As spring buzzes and brims with activity, let's remember the marvel of single-point, single-being entrancement, delight, and repose.

WEEKLY PRACTICE INVITATION

The what: You + one other nature being + 10 minutes of nothing else to do = Ahhhhhhh.

That's it! The effects of the simplicity might blow your mind. Try it out and let me know about your new nature companion.
